Do I need to be referred by a professional?

Accepted Answer

There is no need for a referral. You can call one of our admissions coordinators directly to talk about how we can help you find freedom from addiction and begin your new life of recovery.

Question 3

Will my insurance cover a treatment program like this?

Accepted Answer

We accept and are in-network with most major commercial insurances. Our admissions team just needs to collect some additional information for verification of benefits.

Do I have to use my insurance to pay for this?

Accepted Answer

No, you are welcome to private pay for your stay with us at Riverside Recovery of Tampa. Reach out to one of our admissions coordinators for more information.

Question 5

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Medicaid or Medicare. This does not disqualify you from receiving treatment. Please contact our admissions team to learn more about our additional options.

Do you accept clients that are under a Marchman Act?

Accepted Answer

We work very closely with Hillsborough County Marchman court and can provide additional details regarding the process.

Question 7

What does a typical day look like at Riverside Recovery of Tampa?

Accepted Answer

You will find a patient schedule rich with activities that promote recovery and nourish the mind, body, and spirit. You’ll start your day with a guided meditation and exercise, followed by therapeutic groups, a 12-step meeting, and a daily wrap-up of your accomplished goals for the day.
Our admissions team can provide a copy of a typical full schedule upon request.

Question 8

Will my family or loved ones be able to visit?

Accepted Answer

For the first 7 days, you will be on a “no contact” period. This will allow you to have some time to settle in and establish relationships with the team members who will be treating you. While you will be allowed to contact those on your approved phone list, you will not be able to visit in person for the first 7 days.
For a loved one to be eligible for visits, we must have an ROI on file for them.
Visitation is every Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
We have a virtual family group meeting Wednesdays at 7 pm via Zoom.

Question 9

What kind of clothing should I bring and how much?

Accepted Answer

A good rule of thumb is to bring about two weeks’ worth of clothes. You will be able to do your laundry while at Riverside Recovery and laundry supplies are provided. Also, bring a one-piece bathing suit for aquatic activities in our pool and gym attire.

Question 10

Am I allowed to smoke while I am in treatment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you may bring unopened packs of cigarettes and vapes to be used in designated smoking areas during designated times.

How often will I see my therapist?

Accepted Answer

You will connect with your primary therapist at least once a week for one hour of individual sessions. Additionally, two family sessions are included while in Residential Treatment. Our clinical team may make an exception if you need more individual therapy than this. 
 
You’ll also receive daily dedicated care by master’s level clinicians during your group sessions.

Do you follow the 12 steps at Riverside Recovery?

We believe in individualized treatment for each patient. We will offer a variety of fellowships in which you can get involved such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery, or Celebrate Recovery. It’s important to develop a new network of healthy and supportive friends in recovery. The choice of the program to join is up to you.

What treatment modalities do you offer?

We will use a variety of treatment modalities including: Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Engagement, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, Experiential Therapy, Family-Based Methods (Gottman Method, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory), Trauma Resolution Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

What amenities do you have at Riverside Recovery?

Should I bring my own medications?

Accepted Answer

You should bring any prescription medications that you’re currently taking so our medical team can review them and make any adjustments if needed. You may also bring your inhalers, C-paps, nebulizer, Accu-check machines, and apparatuses such as these.

What is the length of your program?

Our clients’ stay is based upon clinical recommendations and your treatment team’s decision. We do not provide “cookie cutter” treatment plans. Each treatment plan is specifically tailored to meet each individual client’s needs.

Do clients receive any physical activity while in treatment?

Yes, at Riverside Recovery of Tampa we promote healing the mind, body, and soul and offer daily physical activities. We regularly offer yoga, cross-training, and access to a waterfront pool. Additionally, we have an indoor half-court basketball gymnasium that’s used for a wide range of exercises.

Is Riverside Recovery abstinence-based?

Accepted Answer

Yes. While we will use a variety of medication-assisted therapies to help you with detoxification, our goal is to get you substance-free before you complete your stay with us.
